The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club announces its 5th Annual Rotary Art Auction from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 26 at Albertville City Hall, 5959 Main Ave. NE in Albertville.
This family-friendly event will begin with an auction preview, appetizers and soft drinks served from 4 to7 p.m. The auction will run from 7 to 9 p.m.
This year’s art auction will exclusively feature artwork by STMA students and professional artists from the local area.Proceeds will be used to enhance the arts in the local community through scholarships, ISD #885 arts programs and STMA Rotary projects.
“Our art auction has become an evening with an Art-Center like atmosphere right here in our community,” said Rotarian Linda Borchardt, auction coordinator. “This year we decided to move the event to Albertville City Hall to take advantage of its proximity to the FYCC Center and to encourage our Albertville friends to join us.”
The auction will include approximately 60 pieces of matted unframed original artwork, including paintings, drawings, and photography. A small number of pottery and jewelry pieces may also be up for bid. STMA student art is being submitted from St. Michael Catholic School, both middle schools and the high school. Professional artwork includes the works of local artists Karen Berning, Jean Loy-Swanson and Mae Spencer.
