The 2017–2018 Miss Albertville, Haley Rogers, was crowned Saturday as the Minneapolis Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes for the upcoming year.
The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization held its annual coronation at Ted Mann Concert Hall in Minneapolis on Saturday, July 21. At the end of the coronation, the 2019 Queen of the Lakes and Aquatennial Princesses were announced.
In addition to serving as Miss Albertville over the past year, this spring Haley graduated from St. Michael-Albertville High School, where she had been active in student leadership, theater, and choir. Haley was also awarded the Student of the Year award for her senior year. This fall she plans to study mathematics with a concentration in secondary education at St. Olaf College.
Haley believes in finding a calling rather than a career and has a desire to positively influence the lives of young people. She and the rest of the Aquatennial Ambassador Crew will represent the Minneapolis Aquatennial at nearly 300 community festivals and events throughout North America in the upcoming year.
Congratulations to Queen Haley, and best of luck to her as she continues to represent Albertville and now Minneapolis throughout her 2018–2019 reign as Queen of the Lakes.
