The Albertville Lions are gearing up for their annual Christmas in the Park event at Albertville’s City Park from 2-6 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 1. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by reindeer at 3 p.m., and they will be available for visitors inside the Park Depot from 3-6 p.m. This free event also features hot chocolate, apple cider and s’mores, horse drawn sleigh/wagon rides, crafts and gift bags for children, live reindeer, caroling from the STMA High School Choir and performances by KMC Dance. The tree lighting takes place at 5 p.m. All events take place outdoors with the exception of visiting with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The Lions are collecting donations to the Hanover Food Shelf at this event. The Albertville Royalty, Women of Today, FYCC, and the Scouts are all joining the Lions to make Christmas in the Park a success.
Just one day later, the St. Michael Rotary Club and Shop STMA are putting on St. Michael’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, which takes place Monday, Dec. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at City Hall. The event will feature a tree lighting ceremony led by St. Michael’s 2019 Cheermeister, Mark Daleiden. Other event highlights include visits with Santa Claus, crafts for kids, caroling and music, an ugly sweater contest, a snowman search with prizes, poinsettia sales, and free sandwiches, chips, cookies and beverages while they last. Millennium Dance Company will perform two short holiday-themed performances. The event hosts are collecting pajamas for the crisis nursery and food donations for the Hanover Food Shelf. FYCC is also contributing to this holiday event.
