Breaking: United Legacy Volunteers Find Body Near Monticello

November 29, 2015 By Mike Schoemer

Searchers involved in a recovery/rescue effort for a 24-year-old St. Cloud man in and around Monticello discovered the body of an adult male Sunday afternoon.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office reported around 2:30 p.m. Sunday United Legacy volunteers discovered the body of an adult male in marsh land south of Interstate 94 near Dalton Avenue. The volunteers were searching for Tyler Berg, who has been missing since earlier this week.

IMG_0517.JPGBerg, who grew up in Monticello, was last seen at his residence in St Cloud on the evening of November 22nd, 2015.

Tyler Berg’s vehicle, a black Mercury Cougar, was found abandoned near Otter Creek Park in the City of Monticello, just off County Highway 75, on the early morning hours of Monday, November 23rd.

Articles of clothing suspected to belong to Tyler were discovered in Otter Creek Park and at the Monticello Country Club golf course.

The Berg family and United Legacy began conducting searches for the missing man Friday morning, and continued with organized searches through the weekend.

The sheriff’s office will be transporting the body to the state medical examiner’s office for identification.
