The community’s largest consortium of local business owners and vendors have teamed up for Shop St. Michael-Alberville Week this week, encouraging local residents to shop locally for the holiday season.
“Without a doubt, it’s a vital time for local business owners,” said Shop STMA Past President Nick Shultz, vice president of First American Bank. “This is a time of year they need support. It’s easy to lose that in all of the hype offered by the national stores. But we live in a community that has a lot to offer when it comes to shopping for the holidays.”
In what has become a recent tradition, Shop STMA (formerly Shop St. Michael) received proclamations from both city councils to promote the week supporting local business, culminating with Small Business Saturday, the day after Black Friday.
