After giving hundreds of dollars to the Hanover Food Shelf, St. Michael’s First American Bank has selected Family Youth Community Connections (FYCC) as its latest beneficiary of Denim With a Cause.
First American Bank created Denim With a Cause to raise money and awareness for local charities and non-profit organizations. Each Friday, for a $5 donation, employees may wear jeans for a cause, selected by the bank staff. The entire money raised each week goes toward that charity.
FYCC, of course, is the city’s main social outlet for kids and families in the St. Michael, Albertville and Hanover area. From Reading in the Park to Bike Rodeo and Open Streets, FYCC promotes healthy families, healthy kids and healthy communities through education, activity and more.
Most are at low to no cost.
Currently, the summer “Reading in the Park” series is featuring guest “celebrity” readers throughout the summer. Next, beginning July 7, FYCC will open its doors to “The Spot,” located in the FYCC facility at 5975 Main Ave. in Albertville. “The Spot” will be geared toward area pre-teens and early teens (ages 10 to 15) as a place to play games, draw and visit with new and old friends.
More information on FYCC programs can be found via their website.
