A St. Michael woman has been airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center Tuesday after a four vehicle crash on the Interstate 94 ramp to Highway 241 left her seriously injured around 4 p.m.
According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol, 63-year-old Mary Bialon was injured in her Toyota Corolla after traffic on the ramp came to a stop and a 2014 Ford Pickup, driven by 37-year-old Devin McClintic of St. Michael, collided with three other cars when he attempted to exit on the ramp.
The State Patrol’s report said Stacy L. Wermager, 44, St. Michael, was driving a Chevy Traverse and was also stopped on the ramp and caught in the crash, as was 47-year-old Mark Peterson of St. Michael, who was driving his 2013 Ford Pickup.
McClintic’s truck pinched the Toyota between it and the Traverse with enough force to push Wermager’s car into the back of Peterson’s truck.
McClintic, Wermager and Peterson were all able to escape the crash with no apparent injuries.
The accident closed the exit ramp to Minnesota Highway 241 and Wright County Highway 36 on the westbound side of freeway during much of the early evening rush hour.
State Patrol was assisted by Rogers Police, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, St. Michael Fire and Rescue and LifeLink at the scene of the crash.
