The communities of St. Michael and Monticello are both saddened after the deaths of two men who were local leaders and familiar faces to school and church families in each of those towns.
Rodney Dragsten, 61 of Monticello, died unexpectedly on October 6, 2014.
An entrepreneur, Dragsten was a major player in land development and served the Monticello community on the board at Riverside Church, on the Monticello Planning Commission, Economic Development Authority, Transportation Advisory Committee and Restoring Downtown Committee.
Visitation for Rodney Dragsten is tonight, Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 E. Broadway, Monticello, with one hour of further visitation prior to the service Friday, Oct. 10 at the church.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct 10, 2014 at Riverside Church, 20314 Co Rd 14 NE, Big Lake. A private interment is set.
Longtime STMA hockey families will remember Robert “Bob” R. Wenger, 66, who died suddenly on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Visitation for the Wenger family will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael. Further visitation will be held Saturday, one hour prior to the Mass at the church Saturday.
Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Wenger will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will be in the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
