UPDATED: Sunday Crash Closes Highway 241 in St. Michael

UPDATE (11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28): The Minnesota State Patrol has filed its report on Sunday’s three-vehicle accident in St. Michael.

According to the report, a Chevy Cruze driven by 17-year-old Shane Uthe of Isanti was traveling westbound on Highway 241 when Uthe attempted to make a left turn at Larabee Avenue. Uthe was struck by oncoming (eastbound) traffic, namely a 2008 BMW driven by Bobbie Farnum, 26, of Buffalo and her passenger, Hailey Green, 13, of Buffalo, as well as Chrysler Town and Country minivan driven by Camden Gopeferd, 16, of Rogers.

As a result of the crash, Uthe was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition.

CentraCare Monticello transported and treated Green and Farnum, who both suffered “non-life-threatening” injuries in the crash.

Geopferd was treated at the scene and suffered no apparent injuries due to the accident.

St. Michael Fire, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office and witnesses on scene also assisted the State Patrol in the investigation.

Witnesses said the crash occurred about 3:45 p.m., and involved two sedans and a minivan. One person was airlifted by Air Care as result of his injuries in the accident. Two others were transported by ambulance to local hospitals. North Wright County Today will have more on this story as information is made available.
