Minneapolis musician Kat Perkins, sister of St. Michael’s own Kelly Perkins Robinson, is headed to the so-called “Live Shows” on the hit NBC series “The Voice.”
Perkins, who rocked out the Journey ballad “Open Arms” in her performance Monday night, was not one of coach and star Adam Levine’s top two, who moved through quickly to the final. He instead saved those spots for YouTube sensation Christine Grimmie and Delvin Choice.
Standing on stage with fellow “Team Adam” members Morgan Wallen and Jake Barker, Perkins had the opportunity to thank Levine for his coaching with sister Robinson and her boyfriend both in the audience, watching.

“I just want to thank you for sticking with me from the beginning,” Perkins said to the Maroon 5 lead singer. “You don’t know how much that has meant to me through this.”
Levine ultimately selected Perkins to move through to the Top 12 saying “it makes the strongest team.”
Perkins now has the opportunity to perform live on NBC and take part in national voting, as well as join “The Voice Tour” which will tour the United States this fall.
Robinson, who sat down with North Wright County Today earlier this year, said she’d be headed back to L.A. if her sister made it into the “live show” round.
Stay tuned as NWCToday follows Perkins and Robison through Season 6 of “The Voice.”
