November 4, 2014 By Mike Schoemer

An Annandale woman was killed and two young children were injured in a crash on Minnesota Highway 55 in Wright County early Monday, Nov. 3.

Susan J. Williams, 52, of Annandale was killed when she was driving northbound on Wright County Highway 3 (Oliver Avenue) and collided with an eastbound Ford Super Duty Truck, driven by 62-year-old Scott Thompson of South Haven.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Williams failed to yield as she crossed the highway and was broadsided by Thompson, who hit the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Two passengers, Colton Baxley, 4, and Brock Baxley, 1, were transported via ambulance to the Centra Care St. Cloud Hospital. Thompson was also taken to the St. Cloud Hospital. All three suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to the state patrol’s report.

Williams was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding agencies.

Annandale Fire and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the scene, as did Centra Care Ambulance.
