Wrestling fans can see the future of the sport in action this Sunday at St. Michael-Albertville High School, as STMA Youth Wrestling gets set to host the Midwest’s largest team tournament for wrestlers in grades kindergarten through six.
Dubbed, “The Brawl,” Sunday’s action will feature teams from the home program here in STMA, as well as everywhere from St. Cloud to Wisconsin, and beyond the borders. Forty teams – up from 32 – have signed up for this year’s Brawl, which is STMA Youth Wrestling’s largest fundraiser.
The event is still in dire need of volunteers, so if you want to see all of the action for free and assist in pulling off the Midwest’s largest wrestling tournament for kids, contact Tim Milsna via email at Tim.mlsna@charter.net or call 763-360-4564 for more information.
The Knights youth program already hosted one of the largest individual tournaments of the year last month, with a great turnout for that event.
All 800-plus wrestlers will be featured in a program, and the top wrestlers in each class will get trophies for their efforts.
Wrestling starts at 10 a.m. sharp. Check The Guillotine website for more information.
