Kaleidoscope parents, students and staff braved the wind and showers last Friday afternoon – and a few occasional flakes of snow? – to raise money for the Otsego charter school.
This year’s Annual Walk at School raised more than $20,000 and featured four dozen volunteers as the students began the day with walks around the Kaleidoscope Charter School grounds, and then continued a ‘day of play’ with carnival games such as the three-lane bungee run, an obstacle course, Hula Hoop station and giant Jenga.
“Our parents pour a lot of hard work into the day, and it’s been a lot of fun so far,” said Chris Nordmann, first-year Dean of Students at KCS. “It kind of ramps up the year.”
Profits from the money raised will go toward stocking the new media center at KCS, which is part of the school’s multi-million-dollar expansion, set to kick off this year.
The event is coordinated entirely by members of the KCS Parent Teacher Organization.
