Services are set for Monday, Aug. 10 for Richard “Rick” Collier, St. Michael, the uncle of Luke Letellier, a St. Michael teen who lost his fight with cancer a little more than three years ago.
Rick, 64, died unexpectedly at CentraCare Hospital in Monticello on Saturday, Aug. 1. A memorial service for Rick will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 at Word of Peace Lutheran Church, Rogers, with a visitation from 9:30 – 11 a.m. also at the church.
Rick was married for nearly 27 years to Lisa (Tepley) Collier, a familiar face to so many at St. Michael Elementary School, where she is part of the administrative staff. The couple have two children, Julia and Grant, both local graduates.
From the Peterson Funeral Chapel obituary:
“His faith in God made him a strong and stable man for them to look up to and he took every opportunity to pass on his words of wisdom to his children in his own gentle way. Rick had a unique sense of humor and a laugh that will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a strong family man and a wonderful provider. His influence in our lives is something that will last far beyond his life here on earth. Rick was the backbone of our family. He was one of a kind. He was a good man.”
Rick is preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Lucas Letellier; father-in-law, Gerald Tepley and brother-in-law, James Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Collier; son, Grant Collier; daughter, Julia (fiancé, Mike Rogers) Collier; brothers, Pat (Carole) Collier & Steve (Patricia) Collier; sisters, Christine (Keith) Klemz and Michele Anderson; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
