Another pristine morning, another fire for the St. Michael Fire Department to battle on Thursday, Sept. 26.
A semi-truck was engulfed in flames along the eastbound side of Interstate 94 during the morning rush hour. The incident happened around 8:15 a.m., according to reports on Twitter.
The St. Michael and Rogers fire departments responded to the blaze. No reports have been filed at this time. Crews were able to prevent the fire from engulfing the attached trailer.
Interstate 94 was closed to those looking to enter the freeway in Albertville or St. Michael from about 8:20 until 9 a.m. Traffic was at a standstill for much of the morning while crews put out the fire, and then removed the truck and trailer with the assistance of Burda Towing.
