St. Michael-Albertville High School is one of 373 schools throughout the United States and Canada to be honored for increasing the number of students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) classes while maintaining or increasing the percentage of students who earn a score of 3 or higher on the AP exams. For achieving these goals, the College Board included STMA in their 9th annual AP District Honor Roll. Only four other Minnesota school districts received this honor, including Albert Lea, Minnetonka, Sartell, and Wayzata.
In 2018, 314 STMA students took 480 AP exams with 80% scoring three or higher. The Minnesota state average was 67 percent and the global average was 61 percent.
STMA High School offers 16 AP courses such as Calculus AB and BC, English Literature and Composition, Music Theory, Psychology, Microeconomics, Statistics, Physics, Studio Art, Spanish, US History, and World History.
