Wright County continues its slew of major highway reconstruction projects this month with the closure of County Highway 38, a major artery in northern Albertville and western Otsego.
Portions of the roadway will be closed from today, Sept. 5 through next fall, with operations this year including the construction of a roundabout intersection at O’Dean Avenue Northeast and reconstruction of the road for about a quarter of a mile east of the intersection.
That intersection should be completed, weather and soil conditions permitting, by the end of October 2018. A detour is posted, rerouting drivers back to Wright County Highway 19 and over to Wright County Highway 39.
Then, in 2019, the remainder of the road, from O’Dean Avenue through Quaday Avenue (near the intersection with Minnesota Highway 101), with a road widening and the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Quaday and County Highway 38 (formerly Wright County Highway 37).
Many privately-owned utility changes will be taking place throughout the project. Buried cables along with overhead lines must be relocated within the new highway right-of-way limits. This work will be performed by the individual private utility companies or crews they hire directly.
The Wright County Highway Department greatly appreciates drivers’ patience during construction on this important improvement project. Questions or comments regarding this project can be directed to the Wright County Highway Department at 763-682-7383 or toll-free at 800-362-3667 (ask for the Highway Department). Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
