The big burger has landed.
Five Guys opened at the Albertville Premium Outlets Thursday, Aug. 11 with a bang. Opening at 10 a.m., the store had more than 100 customers before the lunch hour (traditionally, noon to 1 p.m.).
The burger chain that started as an East Coast sensation and became nationally known after a spot on ’60 Minutes’ that featured President Barack Obama picking up burgers for his staff. Five Guys made an official announcement about the store on social media in May, and the mall has also confirmed the location. It’s near TCBY, close to Old Navy.
The burger shop becomes just the third dining option on the campus of the Albertville Premium Outlets. Mrs. Fields and TCBY are near the mall’s west entrance. Mall officials said Five Guys and the Mrs. Fields/TCBY locations are working together to create a small food court feel near the west entrance of the outlets.
Subway has operated on the mall property for several years, and Burger King also, technically, serves the mall. D Michael B’s is a free standing restaurant on the mall’s east side, north of the actual Simon property.
