Current Albertville Mayor Jillian Hendrickson is seeking another term in the city’s top post, hoping to continue on what has been, by most counts, a successful tenure in the seat.
Hendrickson has been a loud proponent for transportation, particularly the expansion of Interstate 94. Taking a leadership role on the Interstate 94 Coalition – a collection of government and business representatives that are lobbying for the continued construction of a third lane in each direction on the highway – Hendrickson has worked with both state and federal leadership to keep the project in the forefront.
“I’m reminded [daily] of how blessed I am to live in a community full of vibrant leaders and residents. Thank you for allowing me to serve the community as your mayor, and I hope for support as I seek to serve another term as Mayor of Albertville,” Hendrickson said in a statement issued Monday, July 25.
Hendrickson mentioned Monday she recently traveled to Duluth and had a conversation with Minnesota Department of Transportation head Charles Zelle about I-94 improvements, and the impact a third lane extended to the western limits of Albertville could have.
“There are tremendous growth opportunities for our community and for the state economy [with continued expansion]. This improvement advocacy remains the City of Albertville leadership’s main development goal.”
Jeremy Dominick Picks Up Council Campaign
Albertville residents and social media gadfly Jeremy Dominick is also seeking a spot on the council, hoping for an at-large bid. It’s his first stab at elected office.
Dominick is a member of the Albertville Planning Commission, of which he is vice chair. The technology manager is also a business owner, and maintains the moderator position for the St. Michael-Albertville Bulletin Board on Facebook.
Dominick states he identifies as a “common sense fiscal conservative” and can represent the “younger generation” of Albertville.
