First responders were called to Beebe Lake around noon on Thursday, May 12 after witnesses inquired about a boat that had been sitting on the lake, apparently with no one in it.
Upon closer inspection, authorities – tipped by other witnesses, found a man unconscious in his boat around 12:22 p.m., according to a Wright County Sheriff’s Office report filed with the Crow River News. Wright County deputies investigating and discovered the elderly man was, in fact, deceased.
Foul play was not suspected in the incident, and the angler’s name has not yet been released.
Temperatures were cooler than average but wouldn’t have played a role in the incident.
