A number of holiday events begin the march toward Christmas and the New Year in St. Michael and Albertville, with many kicking off this weekend.
Here’s a look at the events, along with a brief description.
The St. Michael Catholic School Botique – 9 a.m to 2 p.m., Dec. 5
Meet with Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as local crafters and vendors at the St. Michael Catholic School. Activities will be set up in the school cafeteria and in the gymnasium. Refreshments available.
Children’s Holiday Mall at Middle School West – 9a.m., Dec. 5
The Crow River Girls Scouts and their families have been busy putting together inexpensive gifts that children can purchase. All gifts will be priced between $.25 and $5.
Older Girl Scouts will escort children through the mall. Give your child a budget, cash (small bills are best), and a shopping list. Put them all in a zip storage bag with their name and phone number on it. The Girl Scouts will assist them in their shopping experiences so you’ll be surprised!
The Mall is for children old enough to walk through 5th grade. Adults will be allowed to shop aat noon. Each booth in the Mall will giftwrap and tag presents.
Santa with the St. Michael Fire Explorers at St. Michael Fire Department, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 5
Bring a food item or new toy to donate and check out the fire engines. Sit on Santa’s lap and get a photo. Fire Explorers will also have items available.
Christmas in the Park at Lions Park, Albertville – 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6
Join the Albertville Lions as they light up the park just off of Main Avenue in Albertville. There will also be music, free snacks, a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and an art station.
Shop STMA and STMA Rotary Holiday Party and Tree Lighting at St. Michael City Hall – 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7
This annual tradition includes performances by the STMA Choir, music, a visit from Santa and a tree lighting ceremony featuring Holiday Cheermeister Sandra Greninger from FYCC.

A Keri Noble Holiday at Le Musique Room at St. Michael Cinema , 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12
Regional recording artist and Cities 97 Deejay Keri Noble will bring her intimate holiday show to the newest performance venue in Wright County – LeMusique Room at St. Michael Cinema. Keri will be playing songs from her latest release “A Very Special Christmas” as well as many more from her vast catalog of several albums. As a very accomplished singer-songwriter and Cities 97 personality, she brings a wealth of passion for her music told with wit and charm. Find tickets at StMichaelCinema.com.
SOAR Arts Presents ‘Christmas in Toyland’ at Middle School West and Word of Peace Church, Dec. 12 and 13
The holiday fundraiser for the SOAR Arts Group is back this season, with two performances again in 2015. Saturday’s performance is 7:30 p.m. at STMA Middle School West, with a 4 p.m. performance Sunday at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers.

Santa Claus at the St. Michael American Legion – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12
Sources have confirmed that Santa Claus will once again be visiting the Legion in St Michael. Bring in your children to share their Christmas list with Santa Claus. Hopefully your names will be on the “Nice” list. Mrs. Claus will read Christmas stories. The day will have a crafts, a spot to write a letter to send with Santa, bean bag toss, face painting & food specials for adults and kids. Don’t forget to bring your camera, as Santa will be seated in his big red chair back in the fireplace room.
