The Interstate 94 expansion is nearing completion.
Tonight, the three new eastbound lanes on I-94 between St. Michael and Rogers will be opened for traffic. Drivers using that route tomorrow morning will take a right-hand turn onto I-94 just like before the construction.
Road crews will continue working on the westbound lanes through the remaining of the week to remove temporary paving and striping, which means the westbound side may have single lane closures during that period. However, all six lanes should be fully open by the end of the week.
The Interstate 94 Coalition – a consortium of government entities, business and chambers of commerce that lobbied for the widening of the interstate from Rogers to St. Michael – will be celebration the (approaching) end of the construction project in about three weeks with officials from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
A ribbon cutting will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct 13 at the new FedEx distribution facility in Rogers, 19705 Rogers Drive, just east of Cabela’s.
