The Carson and Barnes Circus will bring an all-new edition of America’s Largest Big Top Show to St. Michael’s City Center, as the big top rises in the green space on Landmark Avenue next to City Hall July 21.
Shows are set for 4:30 and 7;30 p.m., and tickets are available at FYCC in Albertville, and First American Bank and Hardware Hank, both in St. Michael.
The 79th Edition features an assortment of human and animal performers, led by the biggest stars of the Circus – The Incredible Carson and Barnes elephants. Presented in traditional “Big Top” style, America’s oldest family-owned circus brings animals and acrobats, clowns and daredevils, and a little old-time Circus Magic to more than 200 American cities each year.
Back in St. Michael for the first time since 2012, the Carson & Barnes Circus family has toured North America for four generations, bringing first-class family entertainment to millions. From small towns to big cities, urban America to Native America, border to border, and coast to coast, America’s First Family of the Circus boasts a legacy of more than 35,000 performances.
“Our goal is to keep alive the traditions handed down through our family of bringing quality entertainment and education wherever we go”, said owner Kristin Parra. “The only thing more important to us than our animals and performers are the smiles on the faces of children.”
Making his Carson and Barnes debut this year is Cirque du Soleil veteran Luis Miguel Terry, who presents his astonishing mastery of bounce juggling. Returning favorites include Mexico’s Rosales Family, who bring four generations of circus tradition to the center ring. The Dominguez Extreme Riders display motorcycling precision mixed with fearless fortitude. Gabriella Cavallini delivers breathtaking trapeze thrills while perched high in the air. Last but not least, Ringmaster Jairo Ojeda keeps the show moving at a rapid-fire pace.
