Volunteers are needed to support competing athletes with intellectual disabilities in the 2015 Regional Basketball Tournament on March 14 in Monticello, which will feature teams from around the state, including members of the St. Michael-Albertville Stallions.
Regional games are held as an extra competition, benefiting 400+ Special Olympics Minnesota athletes, as they train, compete and transform themselves, their communities and the world.
The competition will be held at Monticello High School, 302 Washington Street, in Monticello. The tournament begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
Volunteers have the opportunity to help distribute awards, keep score and time, referee, serve lunches, and hold additional positions at various times throughout the competition. Volunteers may sign up online by going www.somn.org. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age. All volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt.
