A host of local merchants in St. Michael are teaming up to provide specials to people who want to shop local this holiday season.
The Shop Saint Michael group, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary in the community next year, has teamed up for “Shop Saint Michael” Week, as designated by Mayor Jerry Zachman and the members of the St. Michael City Council.

“Keeping the money in our community helps local businesses, reduces local tax burden and saves money,” said Nick Shultz, senior vice president of First American Bank and president of the group, said. “This is a group that really wants people to know about the great things we have for them right here in our city.”

First American Bank – As part of Shop Saint Michael Week, the bank will be collecting contest entries throughout the stretch. At the end of the week, Shutlz said, FAB will hold a drawing to give away a $50 gift card.
Eye West Vision Clinic – Dr. Leah Colby and the gang will be offering 30 percent off all frames. And, the St. Michael location will also conduct a drawing for a free pair of Maui Jim sunglasses with every purchase.
Pineapple Travel – Carrie Kritzberger’s travel group will offer $100 or more on any all-inclusive package booked before Nov. 29.
Dehmer’s – Tony and Amy will offer a free $5 gift card with a $50 purchase, redeemable on a future visit. (Not valid with other offers). On Black Friday only – Five one-pound packages of Lean ground beef for $15 with an additional $25 purchase (Not valid with other offers).
B&D Plumbing, Heaing and AC – The longtime plumbing and heating firm in St. Michael will offer $89 furnace safety and operations checks if booked during Shop Saint Michael Week. (Cannot be used with any other promotion or coupon)
Schulte’s – $5 off an order of $30 or more through Nov. 30, specials on spruce tips, poinsettia plants, holiday items. Trees too!
Edward Jones – Agent Matt Kruse will present a free half-hour “Social Security Planning” meeting for individuals and couples of Saint Michael and surrounding cities if booked during the Shop Saint Michael Week.
Zachman Insurance – drawing for a holiday gift card, stop in during Shop Saint Michael Week to register.
Hardware Hank – The St. Michael store will have a host of sales. Check for the flyer this weekend or on the Shop Saint Michael Facebook site.
