Zachman Retains Position as St. Michael Mayor

Early reports show Nadine Schoen, Cody Gulick to round out city council.

November 4, 2014 By Mike Schoemer

St. Michael Mayor Jerry Zachman will remain in charge of the county’s largest city, as the veteran politician and small-town business owner sailed past challenger Jennifer Pederson, a newcomer to the community, with nearly two-thirds of the vote.

JerryZachmanZachman picked up 3,338 votes to Pederson’s 1,715.

In the race for St. Michael City Council, it appears conservative candidate Cody Gulick has been successful in his third try at city council over the last four years. Gulick held off political veteran David Dayon and planning commission member Keith Wettschreck, as well as newcomer Jeffrey Nied.

Nadine Schoen retained her council seat, according to St. Michael city staff, who tallied unofficial results. Nadine pulled in 2,700 votes.

Here’s the unofficial tally from the City of St. Michael:

Nadine Schoen – 2758; Cody Gulick – 1812; Keith Wettschreck – 1365; David Dayon – 1254; Jeffrey Nied – 509.

All results are unofficial until the election is canvassed by the St. Michael City Council.
