Fieldstone Elementary School is recognized as a Title I Reward School by the Minnesota Department of Education. Reward schools are among the top 15 percentof Title I schools in Minnesota.
Those selected represent the highest performing Title I schools in demonstrating exceptional student outcomes and success on MCA reading and math tests on three measures. They are measured by the percent of proficient students, percent of students making yearly academic growth and success in closing the achievement gap
This year 131 schools are designed as Reward Schools from a total of almost 900 Title I schools.
Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius said, “This is a tribute to the tremendous work of teachers, school leaders and community members who have come together to support students.”
Title I schools receive federal funds based upon low-income families which are used to support reading and math for struggling learners.
Superintendent Jim Behle said that being a Reward School requires “a commitment to make sure every student succeeds at a high level and a dedicated and skillful staff who meet the needs of diverse learners.”
Fieldstone was the only STMA Title I school in 2013-14.
