The sixth annual Buffalo “Pink Street Party” kicks off at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 in downtown Buffalo, as shoppers, vendors, and “partiers” gather to raise funds for cancer care and the Buffalo Hospital Foundation.
More than 80 vendors will be on hand as the community honors those who have fought against cancer, and those who are still fighting. Every dollar raised, according to the hospital, stays within the Buffalo health community.
Downtown Buffalo will be illuminated with pink lights at promptly 8 p.m. These lights will shine from trees, buildings, bushes and poles throughout the entire month of October. Even the fountain in Buffalo Lake will shine pink.
“It is incredibly moving when we throw the switch & thousands of Pink Lights glow in honor of lives touched by cancer. Nearly everyone can think of someone who has been affected by cancer in some way. The Pink Street Party is a powerful event to remember them,” said Karla Heeter, director of the Buffalo Hospital Foundation. Heeter is a former Wright County commissioner and has worked for the foundation since 2008.

- Most Occasional & Retail Shops will be open
- Lighting Ceremony at 8:00 pm
