Robert (Bob) Michael Buschel (Fuzzy), 74, of Ashville, NC, lost his battle with cancer on June 15, 2014. Born August 25, 1939 in Pipestone MN to Herman and Margaret Buschel, Robert moved to St. Michael as a boy and graduated from St. Michael High School in 1957.
Bob married his high school sweetheart Corinne (Steffens) Buschel on December 28, 1958 while stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. After living in Buffalo MN where Bob owned the Skelly Station, Montrose CO where he worked on the Silver Jack Dam; Bob and family took up residence in Irving, Texas where Bob was active in the Benevolent and Patriotic Order of the Elks. He served as Exalted Ruler in 1980-81 and went on to hold the title of District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for North District Texas in 1983-84.
Disappointment came when Bob lost his first wife of thirty two years, Corinne, to cancer at the age of 50. Sometime later Bob married second wife, Joan Buschel, and moved to Ashville, where he retired.
Bob is survived by second wife Joan Buschel; daughters Sandra (Chuck) Greninger, Nancy Buschel and Roberta (Joe) Coleman; sons Michael Buschel and Barry (Lori) Buschel. He leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Margaret Buschel; his wife Corinne (Steffens) Buschel; brothers Richard Buschel and Steven (Joe) Buschel; Sister Donna (Buschel) Swanson; and his loyal companion (dog) Fatso.
Services for Bob are scheduled forFriday, September 5, 2014 at the St. Michael Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with visitation at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow mass at the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery immediately following mass. Please call Sandy Greninger at 763-496-6820 for more details.
