Monticello drivers attempting to use Interstate 94 to go westbound are going to have to do so using a new, “Go Hasty” detour.
The much anticipated “Go Hasty” detour in Monticello is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. this Wednesday, June 4. At that time, crews will close the ramp from Highway 25 to westbound I-94. The westbound ramp from Wright County Highway 18 is already closed, meaning Monticello locals will have no access to Interstate 94 via “conventional” means. Both the ramps from Highway 25 and the ramp from County Road 18 to westbound I-94 will remain closed, concurrently, for about 30 days.
A signed detour will direct drivers along Wright County Road 75 to the County Road 8 interchange, where drivers may access westbound I-94 in Hasty until the Minnesota Department of Transportation can open a ramp in early July. Depending on where drivers begin their travel, they may also consider mapping your own alternate route.
If traveling from Monticello to westbound I-94, drivers will definitely need some additional travel time while those two ramps closed.
