Pharrell Williams was in the house, as they say, for last night’s Top 8 performances of “The Voice,” on NBC.
Which is good, because he may never hear his 2013 smash hit, “Get Lucky,” rocked that way again.
Kat Perkins, sister of Kelly Perkins Robinson of St. Michael, took the stage by storm (and set it on fire) with her rendition of the Daft Punk/Williams collaboration that earned both stars Grammy Awards earlier this year.
Perkins is hoping to become the second Minnesotan to make the final couple of episodes of the NBC competition. The Scranton, ND native and so-called Minnesota “Rockin’ Nanny” would join Eagan’s Nicholas David as a finalist (he on Season 4). No Midwesterner has ever won the competition.
Fans can support the Robinson sisters by heading over to NBC.com now and casting a vote (or 10). Perkins’ single of “Get Lucky” is also available on iTunes now, and sales of the song are counted in the “voting” process.
Perkins, who has been on Team Adam Levine since she auditioned for and made the show, was in the Bottom Three last week, but saved via a performance and social media campaign that helped her stay on the show. Brother-in-law Bill Robinson, who lives in The Highlands development with wife, Kelly (who has been a fixture on the show), said the road for Perkins will be tough.
“Kat has some of the best competition the show has ever seen,” he said via social media Monday. “Some of them already have huge followings, so we need to show her all of our support.”

Results will be aired tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. on NBC affiliate KARE 11. Locally, fans of Kat Perkins and members of the Robinson family will be at Space Aliens Bar and Grill in Albertville to watch and cheer.
