County Road 19 Lane Closures at I-94 in Albertville Begin This Week

November 6, 2019 By Mike Schoemer

Motorists should watch for overnight lane closures starting tonight on Wright County Road 19 under the I-94 bridge in Albertville as crews begin work on the bridges and pedestrian trail.

The pedestrian trail on the west side of County Road 19 will also temporarily close starting Tue, Nov. 12 so crews can begin bridge construction and utility relocation. Pedestrian detour plans are still being determined. The trail will reopen once excavation is complete. The lane and trail closures on County Road 19 are expected through November.

Please be aware that there will be some intermittent noise starting Fri, Nov. 8 as crews begin pile driving on the I-94 bridge. There will be no work on Saturday and Sunday and the pile driving is expected to conclude Fri, Nov. 15. We will do our best to keep the noise to a minimum as work is completed between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Motorists are advised to follow posted speed limits; fines are up to $300 in work zones

More about this project

MnDOT will improve 39-mile stretch of I-94 between Maple Grove and Clearwater, that includes more travel lanes, rebuilt bridges, improved drainage and the resurfacing of deteriorating pavement. Additionally, a new interchange is being constructed on I-94 near the city of Dayton. The improvements will reduce congestion, improve safety, improve freight movement, enhance economic vitality and provide a smoother ride for users of I-94. Work will take place between 2019 and 2021.
