A call to investigators led to the breakup of a local meth house over the weekend.
Wright County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a drug complaint near the intersection of 90th Street Northeast and Haug Ave Northeast in Monticello Township around 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16. During the investigation of the area, deputies located items and chemicals consistent with those used to manufacture methamphetamine.
The investigation led deputies to a residence in the 6900 block of 91st Avenue Northeast in Monticello, where additional items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were located. A 39-year-old Monticello man at the residence, Jeremy Willer of Monticello, has been arrested on counts of first degree controlled substance crimes, as well as possession of counterfeit money.
Due to possible hazards involved in the containment, collection, and clean-up of the area, specialized units from the BCA and DEA were contacted. These specialized units will be on scene at the residence this week collecting evidence and disposing of any hazardous materials that may be at the location.
While this is an active investigation, there is no immediate danger to the public. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office has kept deputies on the scene since Saturday to secure this residence while working with the DEA response team.
