Homeroom teachers at St. Michael-Albertville High School are always on the lookout for exceptional eleventh-grade students to recommend for STMA’s Rotary Student of the Month program. Local Rotarians select students each month of the school year who embody their motto of “service above self,” with the focus on students in their junior year so the honor can be included in college applications.
For April, the local Rotary club has given this distinction to Emery Bell and Grace Davis.
Emery, daughter of Dianne Bell and Loren Bell, is very involved in her community. She has participated in the musical, 3 Act, ITS, Concert Choir, Sirens, NHS, church choir, as well as serving as a Sunday School teacher at her church. She is quite accomplished in Girl Scouts, having achieved her bronze and silver awards while still working towards her gold award. She has also received academic letters. Emery plans to attend a college in the Midwest to study Spanish and International Business.
Grace is the daughter of Jason and Sharon Davis. She is an academic letter recipient and is a participant in cross country and Mental Health Club. Grace also serves as a volunteer at the Maple Grove Hospital. She would like to attend a college out of state to pursue a chemistry degree.
“Rotary is very proud to recognize Emery and Grace as students of the month,” said Tracy Larson, STMA Rotary Club President. “They have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and represent the service above self ideals of Rotary. We wish them a successful future.”
Congratulations to the April winners!
