With the IRS Tax Day now less than three weeks away, last minute tax filers are likely starting to feel the stress. It may help some to know that there is a new CPA firm in the area, Riley Martin CPA, that can help client get their taxes in order.
Sean Riley and his partner, Tom Martin, recently took their accounting business from Coon Rapids to a new location in Otsego, near Nathe’s 101 Market. He said the area’s recent growth and a shortage of CPA firms in the area led them to relocate. Riley Martin provides all full-service accounting and tax work for both businesses and individuals. Their company does bookkeeping, payroll, works with start-ups and businesses with valuation projects in addition to tax preparation.
Riley lives in St. Michael with his family, and he is active on the town’s youth soccer board and his neighborhood’s home owner association.
For those tax filers feeling a time crunch, Riley said they should know that they can easily file for a six-month extension if they are having trouble getting their tax return complete or finding a CPA during this busy season for accountants.
“A lot of people don’t even know that option exists,” Riley said.
He also said their firm has the ability to take a quick look and give last-minute filers an idea of where their tax situation will end up.
Interns Needed
Riley Martin CPA is on the lookout for both a summer intern, perhaps a local college student, as well as one or two interns to help the firm next tax season.
“We want to give that opportunity,” Riley said. “We’ve got the space for it.”
