All of that snow had to go somewhere.
Spring temperatures are here, and snowmelt is filling up local rivers and, in turn, flooding some local roadways.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office issued a list of roads it is closing or watching Tuesday, March 26. Many rivers are supposed to rise through the week, with some crests expected along the Crow River on Thursday and Friday.
Here’s a look at the roads:
The Wright County Highway Dept. is monitoring several roadways for possible flooding. As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, one road has been closed, one is imminent, and additional roads are on a watch list.
Closures:
CSAH (County-State Aid Highway) 17 is closed in Delano.
CSAH 36, east of Highway 101 has water on roadway and closure is imminent (river crest anticipated to come up another 12 inches) near St. Michael/Otsego border.
Highways with water approaching the roadway:
CSAH 7 north of Sugar Lake
CSAH 21 in Stockholm Township
CSAH 75 near the border of Clearwater and Silver Creek Townships
CSAH 12 (just north of Highway 55) at Varner Lake

Please use caution when driving, and do not drive through standing water. Remember that it is illegal to drive around posted barricades.
