A 62-year-old Anoka woman has died after an accident on Wright County Highway 39 near Otsego Friday, March 29.
According to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, around 8:21 a.m. the Wright County Communications Center received a report of a head-on collision on Wright County Highway 39 near the intersection of Page Avenue in the City of Otsego.
The initial investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling eastbound on County Road 39, driven by Brandon Pedrys, 26, Elk River crossed the center line and struck the side mirror of a westbound vehicle. Pedrys’ vehicle then struck the next westbound vehicle head-on. The driver of the second westbound vehicle, Sharon Veima, 62, Anoka was deceased at the scene. A fourth vehicle became involved when it collided with the rear of Veiman’s vehicle. A juvenile female passenger of the fourth vehicle was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Pedrys, who was not injured, was arrested at the scene of the accident and booked into the Wright County Jail for probable cause of Criminal Vehicular Operation. This crash is still under active investigation.
