ISD 728 in Elk River, STMA Schools and Monticello Schools have all announced this afternoon they will be closed Tuesday AND Wednesday, Jan. 29 and 30, due to the extremely dangerous temperatures hitting the region.
Temperatures are expected to be downright lethal, with skin exposure limited to 20 minutes or less with actual air temperatures 25 below Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning from 2:30 p.m. today through 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31. Wright County is also in a winter weather advisory for Tuesday, as snow is expected to hit the area in the afternoon.
