Missing Monticello Woman Found Inside Submerged Vehicle

December 6, 2018 By Mike Schoemer

The search for a Monticello woman missing since the weekend ended, tragically, Tuesday afternoon south of Buffalo.

Authorities found what they believe is the body of 39-year-old Tanisha Maehlin in the Crow River inside a black 2008 Lincoln MKX after a witness called the Wright County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The car was found in the 2500 block of Wright County Highway 12 in Marysville Township.

Maehlin has been missing since Saturday evening. Family members and friends were concerned when they could not get in touch with the woman on Sunday, and said it was unlike her to disappear. They also cited other health concerns, the county said.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is working with the family and investigators to identify the body found in the vehicle. Wright County officials are reconstructing and investigating the crash.
