Commuters and travelers alike should expect heavy traffic between Rogers and St. Michael as MnDOT announced Tuesday it will be performing road construction on Interstate 94 and Minnesota Highway 101 beginning Monday, Nov. 26.
The state reports “outside lanes” will be closed in both directions on Monday, Nov. 26 and Tuesday, Nov. 27 as work is done on the shoulder of both the eastbound and westbound lanes. All ramps will remain open while the work is done.
The lane restrictions will go into place after 9 a.m. on both days on eastbound I-94. Westbound from 101 to 241 will be limited after 8 a.m. each morning for “several hours” the state DOT reports.
“This schedule is weather dependent,” the statement reads.
Motorists approaching the construction areas during the daytime hours should be prepared to slow down or stop while work is ongoing.
