The community’s largest consortium of local business owners and vendors have teamed up for Shop St. Michael-Albertville Week this week, encouraging local residents to shop locally for the holiday season.
“Without a doubt, the end of the year is a vital time for local business owners,” said Shop STMA President Mike Schoemer, owner of North Wright County Today. “This is a time of year they need support. It’s easy to lose that in all of the hype offered by the national stores. We’re so fortunate we live in a community that has a lot to offer when it comes to shopping for the holidays. Look around and, really, you can find almost anything on anyone’s Christmas list.”
In what has become a recent tradition, Shop STMA (formerly Shop St. Michael) received proclamations from both city councils to promote the week supporting local business, culminating with Small Business Saturday, the day after Black Friday.

To entice shoppers to hang with local business owners a bit more, the Shop STMA membership is offering deals all over town. You can tune into Shop STMA’s Facebook page for the latest.
