Homeroom teachers at St. Michael-Albertville High School are always on the lookout for exceptional eleventh-grade students to recommend for STMA’s Rotary Student of the Month program. Local Rotarians select students each month of the school year who embody their motto of “service above self,” with the focus on students in their junior year so the honor can be included in college applications.
For October, the local Rotary club has given this distinction to Brandon Langdok and Gracelyn Riedel.
Brandon is the son of Theresa and Jon Langdok. Brandon is part of the track team and the football team. He achieved All-Conference in track two years, participated on the state team for the 4×100 race, has been on the honor roll each year, and was an AAV All-American for track. He plans to attend a four-year college after graduating from STMA.
Gracelyn is the daughter of Rob & Micki Riedel of Albertville. Gracelyn is a recipient of the Courtesy and Respect Award, a member of National Honor Society, award winner in the social studies department, and has received two academic letters. She has also been the JV soccer captain, been a state and regional finalist in BPA [Business Professionals of America], and is currently ranked #1 in her class in academics. She is a participant in soccer, golf, Student Council, National Honor Society, BPA, Math League, Captains’ Council, Breakfast Club, and the Student Ambassadors program. Gracelyn aspires to attend a four-year college and then medical school.
Congratulations to the October winners!
