The web site niche.com, which ranks cities, schools and workplaces on a variety of factors, has named St. Michael-Albertville High School as the fourth best school in Minnesota for high school athletes in 2019.
Niche based its rankings on parent reviews, number of state championships, student participation in athletics and the number of sports offered at the school. Niche said it gave a “rigorous analysis of key statistics,” and read through millions of student and parent reviews from the Department of Education to rank the schools.
STMA ranked behind Wayzata, Mankato West, and Minnetonka high schools. Lakeville North, Apple Valley, Eden Prairie, Chaska, and Edina rounded out the top 10.
In the local area, Monticello High School ranked 19, Elk River’s high school ranked 41, Rogers received the 50th spot and Maple Grove was at 62.
Nationally, STMA High School received a rank of 113th.
“It is very gratifying to see St. Michael-Albertville ranked with the top school districts in the state,” Superintendent Dr. Ann-Marie Foucault said. “I am extremely proud of our hardworking students and extraordinary staff and am grateful for the continued support and generosity from parents and the community.”
