Three St. Michael-Albertville school board seats will be on the ballot this November, and none of the four candidates vying for those seats are incumbents. The members whose seats are up for a vote in 2018 include Gayle Weber, who has served on the school board since 1990, Jeff Lindquist, who served since 2011, and Jennifer Peyerl, serving since 2015.
The filing period for the election ended Aug. 14, and the four candidates running include Eric J. Boone, Tim Lewis, Larry Sorensen, and Carol Steffens. While not an incumbent, Steffens has served on the school board in the recent past.
“These three school board members represent over 40 years of service to STMA schools and students,” Superintendent Dr. Ann-Marie Foucault said. “This translates into thousands and thousands of student lives that these three individuals have touched throughout their time serving on the school board. They have consistently put students first, exercised sound fiscal stewardship, and have significantly contributed to the district’s tradition of excellence.”
This fall’s election takes place Tuesday, Nov. 6. North Wright County Today will provide more information on each of the candidates as the election nears.
