A Tuesday morning fire has leveled a home on the shores of Lake Wilhelm near St. Michael.
Multiple crews were paged to the fire in the 1400 Block of Jackson Avenue Northeast around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office has determined the home most likely will be a total loss.
Five departments, including Albertville, Monticello, Buffalo and Hanover, assisted with the structure fire. Tanker trucks were needed from those departments as water had to be brought to the home. There aren’t city hydrants on the peninsula on the lake’s south side.
A family dog was able to escape the fire. No one else was home at the time of the blaze.
