No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. If you’re wondering whether you really saw the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile cruising the streets of St. Michael today, the answer is, “Yes!”
The iconic hotdog-shaped vehicle is making its way through the streets of the St. Michael-Albertville area this week as part of a national tour to “put a better hot dog in every hand.” It made a surprise appearance at the Touch-a-Truck event this morning at St. Michael City Hall, giving local families a chance to take a peek inside and have their photo taken with a national icon.
The Wienermobile is being driven by St. Michael native Anne Marie Harald. Harald, a 2014 graduate of St. Michael-Albertville High School, is now representing the Oscar Mayer brand as an official “Hotdogger” as she pursues a career in marketing. She relished the opportunity to bring a little bit of fun to her hometown.
In addition to its cruise through STMA, the Wienermobile will be making stops for official events at the Cub Foods location in Elk River on Thursday, July 26, and the Cub Foods in Rogers on Friday, July 27. Both events are scheduled to run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
