Firefighters knocked down a trailer home fire in today’s record heat, but not before the resident of the Otsego structure was sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The incident happened around 8 a.m. this morning, with Elk River Fire Department and Wright County Sheriff’s Office deputies first on the scene. The fire, which occurred in the 8000 block of O’Day Avenue in Otsego, erupted from the east side of the trailer and leveled the home.
Elk River Fire requested assistance from multiple agencies, including Albertville, Big Lake and Rogers to assist in knocking down the blaze, which took nearly four hours in 90-degree temperatures.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time. The State Fire Marshal’s office is assisting ERFD with the investigation.
The structure was a total loss.
