Road construction season is in full swing, and a new project in Albertville will be causing some headaches over the next few days.
The Wright County Highway Department will begin the Interstate 94/Wright County Highway 37 project in Albertville on Thursday, Aug. 17. The start date could change, depending on the weather.
Work will include pavement markings on the Highway 37 bridge over I-94 to create dedicated left turn lanes onto interstate ramps, and associated signal system revisions to accommodate the new turn lanes.
The work is expected take about a week or so to complete, weather permitting. Work will be completed under traffic, but there will be traffic control in place, so expect delays when driving through this area, according to the Wright County Highway Department. Some of the work will occur at night, to avoid peak traffic times along the highway.
Granite Ledge Electrical Contractors of Foreston is the prime contractor for the signal work on the project. County highway workers will assist in striping and paving.
Please drive safely and carefully through the work zone. The Wright County Highway Department greatly appreciates your patience during the construction of the dedicated center left turn lanes on the Highway 37 bridge over I-94.
