Wright County ID’s Teen Believed Drowned in Crow River

June 6, 2017 By Mike Schoemer

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office has identified the teen believed drowned in the Crow River Monday, June 5.

Multiple agencies are assisting in the search for Levi Wuollet, 18, of Dassel, who was last seen swimming in the North Fork Crow River on Monday near the Keats Avenue bridge in Middleville Township.

Wuollet was swimming with friends and relatives in the river when he went under and did not resurface.

The search includes deputies from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol, Minnesota DNR, as well as numerous volunteers. Hennepin County Sheriff’s office Water Patrol responded with specialized underwater sonar equipment to also assist in the search.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind residents to be cautious around fast moving water. After some heavy rains this spring many of the area rivers and streams are flowing rapidly and have may have hidden hazards, including logs and boulders.
