Wright County Communities Without Power after Sunday Storms

June 11, 2017 By Mike Schoemer

A rare, early-morning summer storm rolled through Wright County Sunday, June 11, about 16 hours after the highest temperatures of the year were reported around the region, and sending hundreds of people into the dark.

Multiple power outages were reported in places like St. Michael, Hanover, Monticello and Buffalo after the front came through with winds clocked over 60mph, very heavy rainfall and some small hail.

Xcel is saying most of St. Michael is back online, but hundreds do remain without power around the area. Monticello had more than 120 customers without service east of Highway 25 and dozens more without service on the south end of the community.

For those experiencing an outage, report your issue online or call 1-800-895-1999.

To view an outage map and to investigate restoration times online, check out the Xcel Energy Outage map, which has layers of information for customers.
